Academia Meets Industry
Academia Meets Industry – had to be postponed until 2022, 23rd World IAPRI Conference. Hoping to count on your participation.
Some of the delegates who attended the 21st IAPRI World Packaging conference in Zhuhai, China might have participated in the first « Academia Meets Industry » session. The feedback received motivates us to pursue this initiative and to propose a new session during the 22nd conference, which will take place in Monterrey, Mexico in June 2020.
AMI: What it is about
The objective of the AMI session is to create synergies to either:
- Help academic groups to bring projects to a higher « Technology readiness level » (TRL) by connecting them with industrial partners potentially interested in the proposed development. Be it through financial support, guidance to align the project with actual business needs or by providing scaling-up opportunities… or
- Help industrial R&D groups or other players of the packaging value chain identifying academic partners to tackle an unmet business need or solve a business limiting issue
AMI wants to become a matchmaker between industry and academia for speedy and aligned packaging innovation.
AMI: The format
The idea behind the AMI plenary session is to provide a forum where academy and industry can present their needs for collaboration in the form of a short pitch (5 min) aiming at finding a partner on the way to innovation.
Short presentations, containing only non-confidential information, should allow the awaking interest of those able to bring the topic further towards actual application. The networking opportunities provided by the conference are then to be used to set the foundations of future collaborations.
